Washington does not intend to reduce its military presence in Syria after strikes on its bases

The United States does not intend to reduce its military presence in Syria after a series of strikes on its bases and does not rule out new retaliatory actions against pro-Iranian groups. National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the White House John Kirby stated this in an interview with CBS.

“Our mission to destroy IS will not change,” he continued. “We have less than 1,000 troops in Syria who are doing this task. This is much less than before, but still enough and very important. So we will continue to carry out this task.”
