A case opened against a suspect in financing terrorism in Russian Ulyanovsk

A woman is suspected of financing the Islamic State FTO which is banned in Russia. The press service of the FSB department for the Ulyanovsk region disclosed this.

Between 2019 and 2020, the woman transferred money to bank accounts controlled by the terrorist organization. According to preliminary information, she followed instructions of her sons, who are based in Syria and are members of the IS. Subsequently, the funds she transferred were used by members of the terrorist organization to purchase weapons, uniforms and vehicles.
