Members of a terrorist group have been convicted in Tashkent. They were engaged in the manufacture of explosives and the dissemination of extremist narratives, a Podrobno.uz correspondent reports.

 

Three men (24, 27 and 28 years old) committed a number of crimes related to illegal travel abroad, disorderly conduct and terrorism. In particular, they united in a group, supported the ideas of foreign terrorist organizations, and were involved in the manufacture of improvised explosive devices.

 

According to one of the defendants, he listened to lectures on the activities of a foreign terrorist organization operating in Syria via YouTube. After that, he decided to go to the aid of the militants. After leaving for Syria in April 2019, he joined Khatiba al-Tawhid wal-Jihad FTO, banned in many countries.

 

According to the second defendant, he realized his mistake during combat training in Syria, when he witnessed the deaths of other mercenaries.

 

The court sentenced all defendants to 15 years in prison.
