FSB thwarted the plans of terrorists who planned explosions in Moscow and Novosibirsk

The FSB of Russia thwarted the activities of one of the IS leaders who planned terrorist attacks on the territory of the Moscow region and in Novosibirsk.

 

According to RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the FSB in Moscow and the Moscow region, this Tajik citizen who was detained by law enforcement agencies, was a supporter of ISIS and created a terrorist cell in order to commit sabotage and terrorist attacks in a number of Russian regions.

 

According to the intelligence, the attacker intended to carry out explosions in crowded places, including at Russian Railways facilities. He recruited other citizens of Tajikistan and organized the illegal manufacture, purchase and storage of explosive devices, weapons and ammunition.

 

As a result of interaction with foreign partners of the FSB of Russia, the attacker was detained in Syria and brought to Russia. The terrorists who were part of the cell were also detained and prosecuted.

 

Subsequently, the detained head of the cell was found guilty of 21 counts of crime and sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of 1.5 million rubles. It is noted that the verdict has entered into force.
