An accomplice of a foreign terrorist organization in Syria was arrested in Omsk

The Omsk court took a local resident in custody. This person is a citizen of a Central Asian state. He helped finance the banned foreign terrorist organization Tawhid wal Jihad and planned to join it in Syria. This was reported to TASS by the official representative of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Omsk region Irina Rusnak.

According to her, the person came into contact with members of a terrorist organization located in Syria, offered them his help in providing financial support for the group, and helped create a Telegram channel for fund raising. He also planned to travel to Syria to participate in the fighting and terrorist activities. In order to do this, the man learned about mining and explosives, using specialized literature from the Internet. The investigative department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Omsk region launched a criminal case on terrorism financing against this person.
