The Taliban said that there is no threat to Central Asia emanating from Afghanistan

The Afghan leadership is pursuing a policy that contributes to strengthening security not just within the country, but in the whole region, and no threats to the countries of Central Asia emanate from Afghanistan. This is how the official spokesman of the Taliban radical movement Zabihullah Mujahid commented the statement of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu that the radical groups, entrenched in Afghanistan, are the main threat to security in the region.

“... Over the past two years, there has been no security threat from Afghanistan to the countries of the region and the whole world, and, in any case, the security forces of the Islamic Emirate with full determination successfully defeated the remnants of ISIS in Afghanistan,” Mujahid said in a statement he posted on Twitter.

The Taliban spokesman stressed that Kabul does not allow anyone to use the territory of Afghanistan against other countries and “expects that other countries, especially those located in the region, will not allow persons with destructive intentions to enter Afghanistan.”

“Unfortunately, we must state that the recent incidents in Afghanistan were committed by citizens of some countries of the region,” Mujahid said, calling on the authorities of these countries to “fulfill their obligations.”

On April 28, Sergei Shoigu, at a meeting of defense ministers of the SCO member states in New Delhi, claimed that the situation in the Central Asian region could escalate and the main threat, according to him, came from numerous radical extremist groups that have entrenched in Afghanistan and have stepped up their actions in neighboring republics to promote their narratives.
