UN Secretary General says "not the right time" to meet with Taliban

UN Secretary General António Guterres said that at this time he was not ready to meet with representatives of the Taliban to discuss the situation around Afghanistan.

“When the moment is right to do it, I will obviously not decline this opportunity. Today is not the right moment for this,” RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.

Earlier it became known that representatives of Russia, China, the United States, France and Great Britain took part in the meeting of Guterres with special envoys for Afghanistan in the capital of Qatar.
