China says it is in no rush to recognize new Afghan government

Beijing does not plan to recognize the Afghan government formed by the Taliban soon, as China is waiting for the materialisation of their promise not to use the country's territory to attack other states, said Special Envoy on Afghan Affairs Yue Xiaoyong.

“We demonstrate respect for this country, its sovereignty and territorial integrity, but it will take time for China to see how this country got out of a complicated situation after 20 years of occupation,” RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.
