A resident of the Smolensk region sentenced to seven years in prison for financing terrorism

A court in the Smolensk region sentenced a local resident to seven years of imprisonment in a general regime colony in a case of terrorism financing, the press service of the regional FSB department reported.

According to the press service of the agency, a 47-year-old resident of the Smolensk region sent about 80,000 rubles to members of the Islamic State (foreign terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation). This person, who was a supporter of radical beliefs, financially supported his close relatives who were members of a terrorist organization and went to Iraq to fight for the terrorists.
