One of the "most dangerous" IS militants detained in Iraq

Iraqi law enforcement officers have detained one of the “most dangerous” IS, the press service of the Iraqi security forces said.

“Based on accurate intelligence and several months of on-the-spot surveillance, Iraqi intelligence forces were able to detain one of the most dangerous terrorists,” the statement said.

The security forces conducted an arrest operation south of the country's capital, the city of Baghdad.

According to intelligence agencies, the arrested terrorist joined IS in 2014. He operated within the so-called Osama bin Laden's brigade as a commander of terrorist units. At first, he headed a unit that was planting explosive devices in the province of Ninewa, after which he became responsible for distributing assignments among members of the terrorist group.
