ISIS supporter sentenced to 22 years of imprisonment in Rostov

The Southern District Military Court announced the verdict on the accused of aiding terrorists. This was reported by the press service of the court.

On November 14, 2020, the defendant, while serving a term in a penal colony in the Stavropol Territory, took an oath of allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State (foreign terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation). From January 1 to March 20, 2021, he persuaded some other prisoners to join this organization.

According to the totality of sentences handed down by the Stavropol Regional Court and the Southern District Military Court, the man was sentenced to 22 years in a special regime correctional colony.
