Islamic State claimed responsibility for the elimination of a Taliban official

The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the elimination of a Taliban official in the city of Faizabad. During the explosion, the deputy governor of the province of Badakhshan Maulvi Nasir Ahmad Ahmadi and his bodyguard were eliminated, and six more Taliban were injured. According to preliminary data, the terrorists detonated a car bomb when a motorcade of the official passed by. According to another version, a suicide bomber was driving the car bomb.

At the end of December 2022, the Islamic State militants eliminated the head of the security department of Badakhshan province in the similar way.
