18 killed in a mosque explosion in northern Afghanistan
At least 18 people were killed and at least more 33 injured in an explosion at a mosque in Badakhshan province in northern Afghanistan, Al Jazeera TV channel reported.
The explosion occurred during a farewell ceremony for deputy governor of Badakhshan province Nisar Ahmad Ahmadi who was killed two days ago by a car bombing, RT reports. The head of the information and culture department of Badakhshan confirmed the death of the former commander of the Taliban security forces in the explosion in the province of Baghlan.
Earlier, on June 7, an explosion occurred in the Afghan province of Ghor, located in the center of the country. An explosive device was planted in the wall of the anti-narcotics office near the provincial capital in the city of Chaghcharana. At that moment there were supporters of the Taliban movement that had seized power in Afghanistan inside the building.
