Man sentenced to six years in Uzbekistan for sending money to terrorists in Syria
A man who was sending money to terrorists in Syria was sent to jail for six years in Uzbekistan, a Podrobno.uz correspondent reports.
According to the State Security Service (SGB), a resident of the Yakkabag district of the Kashkadarya region worked in Russia in the period of 2019-2022. During this time, he fell under the influence of terrorist recruiters. In particular, through the Internet, he began to listen to the records of the ideological leaders of terrorist movements Abdullah Zufar, Abdullah Bukhari, Sadiq Samarkandi, Mahmoud Abdulmumin and others and distribute them, as well as called for hijrat and jihad.
In addition, he created a profile in Instagram social network, where he posted materials containing the ideas of fundamentalism. He also established conection with the international terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir and promoted materials in Telegram aimed at overthrowing the constitutional order in Uzbekistan. He also sent money to support militants fighting in Syria.
In September 2022, the man returned to Uzbekistan, where he continued his illegal activities. After that, he was detained by the SGB officers.
