FSB arrests a Kaliningrad resident for supporting terrorists on Telegram
In Kaliningrad region, the FSB detained a 26-year-old man for supporting a foreign terrorist organization.
According to the press service of the agency, it was found that the Kaliningrad resident entered into correspondence with one of the members of Jaish al-Muhajirin val-Ansar, a structural unit of the Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham (foreign terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation).
At the request of the extremist, the Kaliningrad resident created a Telegram channel and posted materials calling for terrorist attacks and justifying activities of the group.
A criminal case was initiated under two articles: participation in a terrorist organization and propaganda of terrorism. The defendant was taken into custody; the investigation of the criminal case continues.
