Japarov proposes to establish a center under the SCO with headquarters in Bishkek

Kyrgyzstan proposes to establish a center for combating international organized crime under the Shanghai Cooperation Organization with headquarters in Bishkek.

According to President Sadir Japarov, on June 14, consultations of the SCO states on this issue were held in Cholpon-Ata. The Kyrgyz side presented the draft regulations and structure of the proposed center.

“I believe that implementation of this initiative will give a tangible impetus to building cooperation on issues related to ensuring regional security, countering terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and cross-border organized crime,” Japarov said at the SCO online summit.
