Tokayev spoke about combating the "three forces of evil" at the SCO meeting

During the meeting of the Council of the Heads of State of the SCO Member States, President of Kazakhstan Qasim-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence that this summit would give a new impetus to the global multilateral dialogue based on the principles of openness, mutual trust and equality.

“The focus of our presidency will remain on combating the “three forces of evil,” transnational organized crime, drug trafficking and cybercrime. We should also focus our efforts on updating the Program of Cooperation on Combating Terrorism, Separatism and Extremism for 2025-2027,” Tokayev said at the meeting.

He noted that Kazakhstan proposes to adopt the SCO Anti-Drug Strategy for 2024-2029 and an action plan to implement it.

“All these measures will contribute to sustainable stability and systemic strengthening of security in the SCO space. Special attention should be paid to overcoming the crisis in Afghanistan. It is important to continue providing assistance to the Afghan people under the auspices and with the coordinating role of the UN.

Therefore, we once again propose to pay due attention to our initiative to establish a UN regional center for sustainable development goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan in the city of Almaty. I count on your support in establishing this highly demanded structure. Separately, let me express gratitude to the SCO states for their support in launching the process of transforming the CICA into a full-fledged international organization,” the Head of State noted.
