President of Tajikistan proposes to develop a Concept for the expansion of the SCO

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon proposed to develop a concept for expanding the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the medium term.

He made this proposal at the summit of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO Member States.

“Taking into account the growing interest of a wide range of countries and organizations in obtaining status in the SCO, we believe that it is time to think about developing a concept for further expansion of the organization in the medium term,” Rahmon said.
