FSB prevents terrorist attack on railway in Kabardino-Balkaria

In Kabardino-Balkaria, a terrorist attack on the railway was successfully prevented.

According to the FSB Public Relations Center, two armed terrorists were found near the Soldatskaya village. They installed an explosive device under the railway bridge across the Lenin canal.

The terrorists offered resistance and were eliminated. Besides, their accomplice was detained. There were no casualties among law enforcement officers.

In the house of one of the terrorists, law enforcement officers found components and tools for making explosive devices as well as communication equipment.

The operation was carried out by the FSB together with the Investigative Committee, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard. Criminal cases have been initiated under articles on preparation for sabotage, illegal circulation of weapons and explosives.
