A meeting of heads of border services and competent authorities of the SCO member states held in Kazakhstan

The 9th meeting of the heads of border services and competent authorities of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization took place in Almaty. This was reported by the press service of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan.

The event was attended by delegations of the border services of Kazakhstan, India, Iran, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, observers from Belarus and Mongolia, as well as the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure and the Council of Commanders of the Border Troops of the CIS Member States.

Participants considered situation on the state borders of the SCO member states. They summed up the outcomes of joint border operations, discussed work plans for 2024 and developed common measures to counter terrorism, arms and drug smuggling, as well as illegal migration.
