Six defendants accused of Brussels attacks found guilty

A jury in Brussels issued a verdict on July 25 in the case of the 2016 attacks in Belgium.

According to the Belga News Agency, six of the ten defendants in this high-profile trial were found guilty of terrorist killings. Three more defendants were acquitted under this article. The last (tenth) defendant in the case of the 2016 attacks died in Syria before the court's decision. The punishment for the perpetrators will be determined in September.

On March 22, 2016, three suicide bombers from the Islamic State terrorist group committed self-blasts, first at Brussels International Airport, and then at the Maelbeek metro station in one of the busiest areas of the Belgian capital. As a result, 32 people then died, and another 340 were injured.
