Kazakhstan is ready to host meetings on Syria in the Astana format

On June 20-21, another international meeting was held in Astana that was attended by delegations of the guarantor countries, namely Russia, Turkey and Iran, as well as representatives of the Syrian government and the Syrian opposition.

Bogdanov stressed that the next meeting will be held before the end of this year, based on the outcomes of the previous one. “Now, you know, our Kazakh partners have expressed their readiness to continue the practice of organizing these meetings in Astana,” TASS quoted Bogdanov as saying.

“Therefore, we proceed from the fact that there is already an agreement between the three guarantor countries - I mean Russia, Iran and Turkey - to make a proposal to our Kazakh partners and friends in order to hold the 21st meeting by the end of the year, also in Astana,” he added.
