Representatives of Central Asia and the United States discussed security in Afghanistan

Representatives of the countries of Central Asia and the United States discussed ensuring security in Afghanistan and provision of humanitarian aid to them during the C5+1 format meeting in Astana. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.


“As part of this session, held at the venue of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the United States discussed a number of issues related to humanitarian assistance, protection of human rights and international cooperation with Afghanistan, as well as ensuring security and combating terrorism,” - the message says.


Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Talgat Kaliyev, representing the Kazakh side, highlighted the importance of a single agreed pragmatic approach to stabilizing the situation in Afghanistan, the Foreign Ministry noted.
