17 terrorists detained in eastern Pakistan

Seventeen terrorists arrested in intelligence-driven operations in eastern Pakistan's Punjab province. This was reported by the provincial police Department of Combating Terrorism.

It is noted that the detained terrorists, who are members of proscribed groups, including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and the Islamic State, planned to attack places of worship and civilians, as well as foreigners in the province.

During the operations, law enforcement officers also seized a large amount of weapons, including hand grenades, detonators, explosives, prohibited materials and brochures that incite hate.
