US and Taliban discuss resumption of flights to Afghanistan

Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State Matthew Miller said that at a meeting between representatives of the United States and the Taliban, the issue of resuming air travel to Afghanistan was discussed. He made this statement at a briefing for journalists.

“Among the issues discussed were the resumption of flights, countering terrorism and drugs, and release of imprisoned American citizens,” Miller said.

It is noted that after the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan, most of the global airlines stopped air communications with this country.

Earlier, the Taliban imposed restrictions on the issuance of passports in Afghanistan.
