Islamic State confirms death of its leader

The Islamic State has confirmed reports of the death of its leader, Abu Hussein al-Husseini al-Quraishi, Al Jazeera reports.

In a statement circulated on social media, the terrorists said that their leader was killed in clashes between ISIS and the Jabhat al-Nusra (aka Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham) in northwestern Syria.

The terrorists also announced that they had appointed a new leader, Abu Hafs al-Hashimi al-Qurashi.
