Egypt extradites internationally wanted criminal to Uzbekistan
Law enforcement officers brought back a criminal from Egypt. He is on the international wanted list for participation in religious extremist organizations, a Podrobno.uz correspondent reports citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The Uzbek national went to Egypt to study at the Islamic University. Once there, he started attending secret meetings and later became a member of a religious extremist movement. There, in order to engage more supporters, he was disseminating the ideas of fundamentalism and carried out propaganda work among those interested in the Islamic religion and who arrived in Cairo to study. Because of this, charges were brought against him, and he was put on the international wanted list.
The offender was hiding from criminal prosecution in Egypt, but was detained by local law enforcement officers. Now he will stand trial in Uzbekistan and receive a well-deserved punishment.
