Accomplice of a Syrian FTO arrested In Omsk,

The court in Omsk city took into custody a citizen of one of the countries of the Central Asian region. That person was going to participate in hostilities in Syria on the side of the militants and was persuading his acquaintances to do the same. This was reported to TASS by the official representative of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Omsk region Irina Rusnak.

According to her, the man came into contact with members of a foreign terrorist organization located in Syria, offered them his assistance in acquiring weapons, ammunition and explosives, creating websites with terrorist narratives, and expressed his readiness to join the ranks of the militants, swearing allegiance to them. He planned to go to Syria to participate in hostilities and terrorist activities and persuaded his acquaintances to do the same, too. The man learned about mines and explosives by reading the specialized literature he found on the Internet; he was also looking for ways to acquire components to create explosives. The investigative department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Omsk region opened a criminal case on the financing of terrorist activities and training for terrorist activities.
