A foreigner convicted in Kamchatka for terrorism financing

For the first time In the Kamchatka Territory, a citizen of one of the Central Asian countries was sentenced for financing terrorism, Interfax reports with reference to the press service of the regional department of Russian FSB.

 

The foreigner was charged with transferring funds to a member of Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham foreign terrorist organization, banned in the Russian Federation. The man also posted videos with propaganda of terrorism on the web.

 

As a result, the court sentenced the defendant to 9 years and 10 months of imprisonment. The first three years he will spend in prison, and the remaining term in a strict regime penal colony.

 

In addition, the convict will have to pay a fine of 30 thousand rubles. Among other things, he is prohibited from posting on public networks for two years.
