ISIS plot thwarted in Iraq

A plan by ISIS to establish control over Rawa area in Iraq has been thwarted. This was reported by a source in the security service of Anbar province.

“Following the instructions of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mohammed Shiaa al-Sudani and under the supervision of the head of the counter-terrorism service, Lieutenant General Abdul Wahab Al-Saadi, based on the accurate intelligence and in coordination with the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, our soldiers attacked a group of drug traffickers in the Khanaqin district in Diyala province,” the press release says.

It is also noted that “the drug traffickers that the security forces encountered in the village of Kara Taba belong to the ISIS terrorist units.” The Iraqi armed forces succeeded in arresting three of them and detaining a group of militants.
