Astrakhan resident sentenced to 8.5 years in prison for assisting terrorism

The Southern District Military Court found a resident of Astrakhan city in Russia guilty of assisting the terrorist activities of Ha’yat Tahrir ash-Sham (foreign terrorist organization banned in Russia) and sentenced him to 8.5 years in prison. Press service of the FSB of Russia in the Astrakhan region reported this.

According to FSB, the defendant was raising and transferring money through remittance services to one of the active participants of this the foreign terrorist organization operating in Syria.
