Nusrat al-Islam calls for war against Wagner group in Mali

The Nusrat al-Islam group called for war against the Malian army and the Wagner private military company. This was reported by Arab Africa telegram channel.

Jama'a Nusrat ul-Islam wa al-Muslimin (Al-Qaeda's branch in the Sahel) called for “mobilization and jihad” against the Malian army and the Wagner group. A lengthy statement to that extent was published by the Az-Zalaka Foundation, the media arm of the organization.

Nusrat al-Islam terrorist group has many followers in various regions of the Sahel. Its cells are widespread in Mali and Burkina Faso, and have recently started to penetrate into neighboring Niger.

Since July 2022, the organization's activities have been aimed against the Malian army and shifting attacks to the south of the country to push the Malian army to transfer forces fr om the north, wh ere the strongholds and shelters of the group are located. Currently, Nusrat is actively attracting the population and sponsors  in the southern regions.
