Man wanted in Russia detained in Italy

Italian law enforcement authorities detained a Russian citizen at Palermo (Sicily) airport. He was convicted on charges of terrorism, Palermo Today wrote.

The detainee was allegedly put on an international wanted list. It is not yet known whether he travelled on false documents and why he flew to Palermo. According to preliminary data, the man lived in Syria for some time.

Russia has been looking for him since 2017. Italian law enforcers will launch the extradition procedure based on the results of the interrogation of the detainee.
