Syrian troops are clashing violently with militants in the south of Idlib

The troops of the Syrian army, supported by the militias, repel terrorist attacks on the line of contact in the south of Idlib governorate. According to Al Watan newspaper, fierce fighting broke out at the part of the front between El-Malaja and Khazarin villages, and both sides suffer losses.

The militants of the Ansar at-Tawhid group that is fighting on the side of Jabhat al-Nusra extremist group attempted to break through the defense of government forces. On Saturday, they attacked the positions of Syrian troops in the Khazarin districts and took them over. In the battle with terrorists, 13 Syrian soldiers were killed and more than 20 were injured.

In response, the artillery of the Syrian army launched missile and mortar strikes on enemy firing points at the Jisr al-Shugur pass through which the Latakia-Aleppo highway passes. Outposts of the militants in El Fatir, Kafr Avid, Sufuhun and Kensafra in the highlands of Jabal al-Zawiya which they used to shell Sahl el-Gab valley, which is under the protection of government troops, were also destroyed. The militants suffered losses in manpower and equipment.
