FSB detains a native of the Rostov region on suspicion of financing Islamic State

FSB officers detained a native of the Rostov region on suspicion of financing the Islamic State (foreign terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation). This was reported in the press service of the FSB department for the Rostov region.

The suspect transferred money to the owner of Umma publishing house who was previously convicted of arranging terrorism financing.

During searches in the house of the suspect, extremist literature and a large amount of money were found, he was detained. A case was initiated against him under Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia (Assistance to Terrorist Activities).
