Terrorists who infiltrated from Afghanistan eliminated in Tajikistan
Three members of Jamaat Ansarullah terrorist group who entered Tajikistan from Afghanistan were eliminated by a unit of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS). The press service of the agency reported this.
According to official information, on the night of August 29-30, three members of a terrorist organization illegally entered from Afghanistan into the vicinity of Kevron village in Darvaz district, Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan.
“On the morning of September 5, the anti-terrorist group of the State Committee for National Security surrounded the location of the militants, demanding that they surrender. The terrorists did not heed and opened fire from their weapons. After that, as a result of the counter-terrorism operation, three members of the terrorist group were eliminated,” the agency said in a statement.
It is reported that in addition to the weapons they had with them, the terrorists also transported in advance from a neighboring country a large batch of weapons, military ammunition and explosives, money and communications equipment for carrying out terrorist attacks and put it in caches.
This is not the first attempt by Ansarullah members to destabilize the situation in the country. Earlier, on April 26 this year, two members of this organizationillegally crossed the state border line of Tajikistan and Afghanistan in the Dashti Yazgulyam section of the Vanj district to commit a terrorist attack. They were eliminated in an the anti-terrorist operation.
