Iran reports a prevented terrorist attack

Iranian law enforcement officers detained a man who intended to carry out a terrorist attack in the province of East Azerbaijan, local media write.

According to the tentative information, a local resident was planning to blow himself up in a square in Tabriz during an anti-government meeting to be held there. He planned to do this using gas cylinders.

Law enforcement officers detained him the day before. Currently, they are checking if he is affiliated with any terrorist organization.
