A foreigner in the Moscow region sentenced to 2 years in prison for promoting terrorism

The Mytishchi court (Mytishchinsky District in Moscow Oblast of Russia) sentenced a man who joined Islamic State and called for terrorist attacks in Russia to 12 years in prison.

According to the investigation, in the period from 2012 to 2016, the man joined a terrorist cell in Mytishchi. He held meetings, sponsored and provided necessities for those involved in the organization's activities, including temporary housing for them. He also helped them create accounts on social media. On social media, he encouraged to carry out terrorist attacks in Russia.
