Iranian intelligence service discloses information about terrorist attacks prevented in Tehran

Intelligence services of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps prevented 30 explosions in Tehran. This was reported by the Ministry of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic, ISNA reports.

“The intelligence services discovered, neutralized and arrested all the participants of the plot that planned to carry out 30 terrorist explosions in densely populated areas of Tehran,” the statement said.

According to the agency, intelligence officers detained 28 suspects in three provinces, namely Alborz, West Azerbaijan and Tehran. All of them are associated with the Islamic State terrorist group.

During the arrests, the criminals had numerous explosive devices, including time bombs and suicide vests. In addition, they possessed17 weapons, ammunition and satellite communication devices.

During one of the anti-terrorist operations, two intelligence officers of the Islamic Republic were wounded, TASS cites the original statement.
