Kurdistan Workers' Party claims responsibility for the attack near the Ministry of Internal Affairs
The Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), banned in Turkey, said its battalion was responsible for the terrorist attack that took place in the center of Ankara near the Ministry of Internal Affairs building. The PKK statement was published on the website of the ANF agency that is close to the organization.
“Today at about 9:30 a detachment of our Immortals battalion carried out a selfless action against the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Turkish Republic. It was specifically stipulated that this action would be held on the opening day of parliament, very close to parliament, against the center of massacres and torture,” the statement said.
Representatives of the PKK claim that during the “action” party members entered the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and killed a guard. The agency, however, claimed that the two police officers were slightly injured, and no deaths were reported.
An explosion on Kizilay Square in the center of Ankara took place on the morning of October 1 near the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. As a result of the blast, one of the terrorists died, and the other one was eliminated.
