Muttaqi: We will not concede with regards to women, and give us an example of an inclusive government!

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) will not take any steps with regards to girls' education that could cause a division within the Taliban. This was stated by IEA Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi in an interview with BBC Pashto radio station.

According to Muttaqi, the education of Afghan girls is an internal issue of Afghanistan.

“We are trying to take steps that would not cause a split, Allah forbid. We look for a reasonable solution for every problem. And we will find a solution that is free from risk and controversy, even if it takes a long time,” Muttaqi said.

Regarding the international community's demand for an inclusive government, Muttaqi stressed that the IEA government was already inclusive.

“If inclusiveness means that there should be representatives of all ethnic groups in the government, then all ethnic groups exist in our government, both at the lower level and at the cabinet level. If inclusivity means that there should be ministers from different provinces, we have ministers from Kabul, Panjshir, Badakhshan, Faryab, Kandahar and Nangarhar,” Muttaqi said.

He added that no one has yet given a clear definition of inclusive government.
