Four natives of Dagestan convicted in terrorism case

A court in Rostov-on-Don convicted four inmates from Dagestan of creating a terrorist cell in a penal colony and sentenced them to terms ranging from 18 to 24 years.

The court found that the defendants, who were serving sentences for crimes committed earlier, participated in the establishment of a terrorist community in the correctional facility. In addition, they prepared and committed terrorist crimes, promoted and justified terrorism, according to the statement published on October 9 on the website of the Main Directorate of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation for the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts.
