IS claims responsibility for terrorist attack in Brussels

The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack in Brussels, which killed two Swedish fans. This was reported by Reuters, citing a source.

Islamic State claimed responsibility for Monday's attack in Brussels, according to their Telegram post published on Tuesday. It said that one of IS fighters carried out the attack that killed two people.

On the morning of the same day, the Belgian police confirmed that the shooter in Brussels was killed during arrest; he was identified by investigators as 45-year-old Lassoued Abdesalem, known to the police for offenses such as illegal stay in the country, human smuggling and others. Besides, it is reported that a day earlier he published a video on social media stating that he acted on behalf of the Islamic State.
