An Uzbek man became an assistant to a famous terrorist recruiter

Law enforcement agencies have put a citizen of Uzbekistan on the international wanted list. He is the bodyguard and assistant of the famous terrorist recruiter and radical preacher Sodik Samarkandi, reports a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

Abdulatif Sarimsakov was born in 1975 in the Shahrikhan district of the Andijan region of Uzbekistan. He went to Istanbul for seasonal work in 2009. While staying there, he started listening to preachings by ideological leaders of foreign terrorist organizations on social media, in particular to preaching of Sadiq Samarkandi and Abdullokh Zufar, prohibited for distribution in Uzbekistan.

Sarimsakov fell under the influence of their propaganda, and jointly with his friends established a religious extremist group.

In addition, Sarimsakov became a member of the foreign terrorist organization called Jihadists, and became an active propagandist there. Besides, he joined the ranks of the so-called Association of Cultural Education and Unity of Uzbekistan.

Currently, Sarimsakov is in Turkey serving as a bodyguard and adviser to Sadik Samarkandi.

In 2009, law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan opened a criminal case against Sarimsakov for creation, leadership and participation in religious extremist, separatist, fundamentalist or other prohibited organizations, as well as for encroaching on the constitutional order of Uzbekistan.
