Pakistan has introduced restrictions on the purchase of firearms

Pakistan's Ministry of Interior has imposed restrictions on the purchase of firearms in an effort to stop illegal trafficking, as reported the Daily Pakistan newspaper.

The media writes that, according to the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, weapons must be purchased exclusively from the leading Pakistani manufacturer Pakistan Ordinance Factories, otherwise their holders will automatically lose their licenses.

According to the experts, in a number of regions of the country, handicraft weapons are illegally produced and sold in underground arms shops. In addition, counterfeit licenses are issued, which increases the level of terrorist threat, the newspaper notes.
