Pakistan and Russia agreed to strengthen joint efforts to efficiently combat terrorism. This was said in a statement by the Pakistani Foreign Ministry.
The 10th meeting of the Russian-Pakistani working group on countering international terrorism and other security challenges under the chairmanship of acting Pakistani Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin took place on Friday in Islamabad, the statement said.
During the meeting, the parties discussed global and regional terrorist threats, paying special attention to the situation in Afghanistan, Central and South Asia, and North Africa.
The parties also discussed various forms of radicalization, the spread of terrorist narratives, abuse of information and communication technologies for terrorist purposes and agreed on the need to develop comprehensive strategies to counter these challenges.
