Implementation of the Program to Counter Extremism and Terrorism discussed in Bishkek
The Anti-Terrorism Center of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of the Kyrgyz Republic held a round table on the topic: “Progress on implementation of the Program of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 141 to counter extremism and terrorism for the period of 2023-2027, approved on March 15, 2023, and its Action Plan.”
As reported by the State Committee for National Security, this event was attended by representatives of the president’s administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, the office of presidential representatives in the provinces, the mayor's office of the cities of Bishkek and Osh, public agencies and law enforcement agencies and experts.
The purpose of the event was to provide information and explanations about the objectives and main areas covered by the Program and Action Plan, the procedures and mechanisms for their efficient implementation, as well as the exchange of relevant information in the process of interaction and their implementation with the main government bodies involved in the implementation of these strategic documents.
The presented Program and Action Plan provide for the implementation of the state policy of the Kyrgyz Republic on countering extremism and terrorism by improving the mechanisms of interaction in this area and implementing a set of measures to ensure that government bodies effectively counter the risks and threats posed by extremism and terrorism, as well as facilitating interaction and coordination of public bodies and local self-governance authorities.
This event was held in a businesslike and constructive atmosphere with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek
