Ulyanovsk resident will serve nine years in prison for financing terrorists

The Central District Military Court sentenced a resident of Ulyanovsk who was involved in financing the activities of a banned foreign terrorist organization to 9 years in prison, the press service of the regional department of Russian Federal Security Service reports.

This resident of Ulyanovsk transferred money through one of the payment systems from his bank card, as well as from a bank card of a close relative, to an account controlled by members of this terrorist organization. Then this money was used to purchase weapons, ammunition, medicines, and food for terrorists.

The FSB investigated a criminal case under Art. 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Promotion of Terrorist Activities in the Form of Financing).
