Indian law enforcement agencies suspect those who sprayed gas in the parliament building of terrorism
After the gas spraying incident in the Parliament building, Indian law enforcement agencies are conducting an investigation, considering the incident to be terrorism and criminal conspiracy. Local police reported this.
The investigation is being conducted under articles that provide punishment for a terrorist attack, criminal conspiracy, deliberate provocation with the intent to cause riots, assault and the use of force against a civil servant.
The meeting of the People's Chamber was interrupted the day before by two men who entered the hall from the visitors' gallery. One of the violators started jumping up on the tables and benches of the parliament members, while the second began spraying yellow gas. They were captured by security guards and several MPs.
During the incident, a man and a woman were detained in the meeting hall near parliament. They were also spraying yellow gas. None of the MPs were injured in the incident. A preliminary investigation showed that the sprayed gas was not harmful.
As law enforcement officers found out, the attack on parliament was planned in advance. Two more people are involved in the case. Eight members of the parliamentary security service have been suspended from work because they are suspected of involvement in the incident.
The incident occurred on the anniversary of the 2001 attack on the parliament. Then terrorists entered the building and opened fire, killing 9 police officers and personnel, injuring 22 more. The militants were eliminated.
