The court sentenced defendants who planned an explosion in the FSB building
The Second Western District Military Court sentenced five natives of Tajikistan and a resident of Dagestan, M. Buriev, R. Buriev, S. Toshmurodov, A. Toirov, A. Samiev and G. Gasanaliev, as members of a terrorist cell who planned to carry out an explosion in the FSB building on Lubyanka in May 2022 to 16 to 22 years in prison. The court found them guilty of attempting to commit a terrorist attack by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities, illegally manufacturing explosives, establishing a terrorist community, organizing the activities of a terrorist organization and facilitating terrorist activities.
According to investigators, the defendants as members of Islamic State terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation, were going to set off an explosion in the FSB public reception building on Lubyanka on May 1, 2022 by sending a suicide bomber there and putting forward a demand for the withdrawal of Russian troops from Syria. A. Toirov was supposed to play the role of the martyr.
